A Competent Crossover – The 2021 Jeep Cherokee

The 2021 Jeep Cherokee sets itself apart from its compact crossover competition by offering class-leading off-road and towing capabilities. While the Cherokee is larger and somewhat pricier than its rivals, it also does much more than any other vehicle in its class.

For 2021, Jeep updated the Cherokee to ensure that drivers that want to venture beyond the pavement are always willing to do so. Orleans Dodge offers a variety of 2021 Jeep Cherokee new models to drivers wanting more capability.

New Features

The 2021 Cherokee is better than ever before thanks to additional features added by Jeep for the new model year. Newly standard active safety features include automated emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring.

A new model was also introduced for 2021–the 80th Anniversary Edition that features granite crystal 19-inch wheels, leather upholstery with contrast stitching, 8.4-inch touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof, and more.

Driving

Drivers in Orleans and across Canada will give the 2021 Jeep Cherokee a good review in terms of performance. Drivers can choose from three powerful engine options, each of which pair with a nine-speed automatic transmission:

  • 2.4-litre Tigershark MultiAir Engine
  • 2.0-litre Turbo Engine
  • 3.2-litre Pentastar V6 Engine

The Tigershark is standard on the Sport and North models, offering 180 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque, delivering 907 kg max towing and 9.3 L/100km combined fuel economy. The Pentastar is standard on Altitude, Trailhawk, and Limited models, offering 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque, delivering 2,041 kg max towing and 10.6 L/100km combined fuel economy.

Design

Jeep has provided a slight redesign to the Cherokee, improving its looks and emphasizing its historical features. The front end of the Cherokee was restyled, keeping the iconic Jeep grille but making the headlights more prominent.

The rear styling was also made sleeker, and the interior materials increased in quality and storage cubbies increased in number. Inside, the Cherokee offers a comfortable cabin environment with an attractive dashboard that cultivates an upscale feel reminiscent of the more expensive Grand Cherokee.
